YMM tutors are playing all over London this month. Here is a roundup of the best gigs and concerts in London in January 2017...

Voice and ukulele tutor, Jade Ellins, is appearing with her band DOLLS at Paper Dress Presents... on Tuesday 17th January. Paper Dress Vintage presents an evening of wonderful live music from their unique shop window stage in Hackney Central.

Drum tutor, Michael Searl is a regular in the house band on bass (!) at Le Junction Jam Session. The multi-genre North West London jam session started four months ago at The Royal Oak and this Thursday, 19th January is the first night in their brand new home in Harlesden.

Joe Bickerstaff, piano tutor, performs as part of a jazz trio at Palm Court: A Night of Jazz on 21st and 28th January. Champagne enthusiasts may indulge their passion by choosing from one of London’s widest list of over 40 champagnes, including some rare and unusual offerings.

Chris Williams, saxophone, clarinet and flute tutor, is performing with Sarathy Korwar at Giles Peterson's Worldwide Awards on 21st January. Tickets are almost completely sold out but if you miss out, you can still watch via the official live stream at Giles Peterson Worldwide.

Bass tutor, Cai Marle-Garcia, is joining jazz guitarist, Nicholas Meier at Olivers Jazz Bar, Greenwich, on 28th January. This date kicks off a European tour with dates in Germany and Czech Republic, and celebrates Meier's brand new album 'Infinity'.

Other notable gigs in London...

YMM alumnus, Marcus Bonfanti is appearing with the legendary Ronnie Scott's Blue Explosion on 22nd January. The monthly blues show featuring top performers and specialises in blues from Chicago to the Delta, West Coast and British. Expect blues classics from Eric Clapton, BB King, Freddie King, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Peter Green, Howlin' Wolf, Robert Cray amongst others.

The London A Cappella Festival is at Kings Place from 26th - 28th January. Highlights include chart-topping Decca recording group VOCES8, winners of Gareth Malone’s The Naked Choir The Sons of Pitches, America’s Got Talent stars OneVoice, YouTube sensations 'Swedish Fishermen' Solala, international phenomenon Accent, all-American country stars Home Free and festival co-hosts The Swingles.
